Island
Fact and Theory in Nature

by James Lazell

“Lazell… addresses and rejects… many of the major theories of ecology and biogeography, and some from evolution…. Lazell is an engaging writer and employs many catchy turns of phrase… amusing… interesting discussions and colorful digressions.”

Daniel Simberloff, University of Tennessee

“The most refreshing and entertaining expose on island biogeography I’ve read in ages.”

Gregory K. Pregill, University of San Diego

The Conservation Agency’s goal is to put into print, and thus into the hands of land preservation organizations and environmental lawmakers, facts that can be used to help maintain the earth’s biological diversity. We also strive to publish popular natural history articles of significant educational value on a regular basis.

This list of about 450 published works, supported in whole or in part by The Conservation Agency (founded in 1980), is chronological and updated annually.

James Lazell, Founder and past President, The Conservation Agency
